Normally with the eruption of the first tooth, at 6 months of age, dental eruption and hygiene should be monitored. At 2-3 years of age all the primary teeth should be in the mouth and at 6 years of age the first permanent molar tooth should erupt, however, there may be small delays that should be checked radiographically. From the age of 6, it is advisable to visit the orthodontist in case it is necessary to modify the growth of the maxillary bones or to create space for the rest of the permanent teeth.
